Sluice Weir Reopened

The Environment Agency is pleased to announce that both Sluice Weir and Oak Weir Locks are now open for powered and unpowered craft following an extensive maintenance project which will give the existing timber gates a new lease of life. The old softwood timber skins have been replaced with glass reinforced fibre and stainless steel stiffeners which will reduce leakage, the winding gear has been reinstated where necessary for increased convenience, while the gate collars have been changed for safety.
