Dredging Update Wednesday 16th April 2014:

As you are aware the River Medway has been in flood for many months. As a result of this continued high flow, the river has experienced the following issues:
  • Loss of riverbanks (specifically in the areas of Tonbridge and East Peckham)
  • Excessive mobilisation of ballast and silt reducing navigation draft and blocking lock gates and sluice gate inlets.
  • Fallen and "still at risk" trees.
The Environment Agency are working hard to reinstate the navigation to a fit for purpose state. Below is a list of sites where there are issues and when we anticipate them being rectified. Please keep an eye on this page for further updates.
