LATEST NEWS:

THE WALKWAY ACROSS ALLINGTON SLUICE IS NOW OPEN!
The Environment Agency have re-opened the walkway today. Please note however that the disabled access ramps won't be complete for a further two to three weeks. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

MEDWAY CANOE MARATHON - SUNDAY 8th AUGUST 2010
Canoe from Allington Lock to Tonbridge a distance of approximately 18 miles. Open to all. For details click here

ADVANCE WARNING OF WINTER WORKS AT ELDRIDGES LOCK - Mid October 2010 - 31st March 2011
This Winter, the Environment Agency will be completely refurbishing Eldridges Lock and installing a new weir gate to improve control of the river levels upstream. Works will commence in October and end next March. To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to drain the following river pens for the duration of the works:
Tonbridge to Eldridges
Eldridges to Porters
Porters to East Lock
This means that the navigation and canoe passes will be closed at these locations. An official Notice to Mariners will follow in due course.

7th June - ADVANCE WARNING OF DISRUPTION
Please note that over the next few weeks we will be experimenting with East Lock Canoe Pass. The first stage of this will be the installation of rubber baffles within the pass. Works should take just a day or two and will be undertaken during a working week day only. The rest of the time the pass will remain open.

5 April 2010: The toilet and shower unit at Yalding is now open. You will need a key to enter. These are available from Michelle Waterman 01732 223222, Allington Lock or at Yalding 9am, 12pm or 3pm each day. The keys are £10 each.
