5 of 2024 - East Lock - Porters Lock

We have found a fault with East Lock Sluice which means that river levels will remain lowered until further notice.

We are working with our contractors to carry out emergency repair work. This is following a maintenance inspection which we do on our navigation structures every winter.

We lower the water level for short durations between sluices to do these maintenance inspections, and the section at East Lock Sluice will remain lowered for safety reasons until the repairs have been made.

We appreciate the potential impact to river users as this section of the navigation will be closed, and we will reopen it as soon as it is safe to do so.
