Allington Lock is operated by duty lock keepers. The normal opening times are as follows:
Between 1 March and 31 October, three hours before high water and two hours after, where those hours fall between 7am and sunset;
On any other day between three hours before high water and two hours after, where those hours fall between 8am and 4pm.

Lock keepers are on standby outside these hours for those that wish to travel at night. Contact the lock keeper here.
You will require a river licence to use the Medway above Allington Lock. The latest licence charges can be found here.
