Below are drawings and photographs showing progress of the bespoke designed new tug "Mallard" and dredger barge "Teal" that have been built built for the Environment Agency. The vessels are based on an original Canal and River Trust design. The design detailing was provided by Keel Marine of Petersfield and has been built by Manor Marine of Portland, Dorset. Total project costs around £450k.
The two vessels will aid the navigation team on the Medway in their annual dredging & channel maintenance programme. The multi purpose barge will also provide lifting capabilities for dam boards and other materials. The two vessels are road transportable so can be delivered to other watercourses when required.
